Dental Staff

Dr. Tycoliz graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1985 from the University of Tennessee. He has been practicing general dentistry/dental sleep medicine at Summerland Dental since 1987. He is a graduate of the University of Florida's Comprehensive Dental Program. Dr. Tycoliz is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida East Coast Dental Association, and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Tycoliz is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), the only non-profit professional association dedicated exclusively to the practice of dental sleep medicine. Dr. Tycoliz helps treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy when indicated. An oral appliance is an effective treatment that is covered by most medical insurance plans. Dr. Tycoliz completed the highest training certification as a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is the only dentist with Diplomat status within 100 miles of Key West, FL. In addition to high-quality dental services, Dr. Tycoliz and the Summerland Dental team have extensive sleep disorder training. Samantha graduated from Central Lakes College in 2004 for Dental Assisting and went to The University of Minnesota Dental program for Expanded Function in 2016. She moved to the Keys with her husband Jeremy in 2017. Samantha then completed a course in West Palm Beach for assisting and radiograph program for Florida State. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work in various dental offices.. She enjoy time on the water, fishing, boating, diving and sand bars and spending time with her two dogs.

Johanna was a part of our staff prior to the hurricane and has returned to help us take great care of our patients from the moment they walk in the door. Her knowledge of dentistry and office protocol makes her an asset to our family.

Jennifer and her husband moved to the Florida Keys over 15 years ago. Jennifer graduated from PHSC Dental Hygiene Program and received her Dental Hygiene license in 2008. Since then, she has cared for patients in Key West until recently joining our team in late 2021. Jennifer treats each patient with quality care and always tries to make their dental visits as comfortable as possible. When she isn’t working, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter enjoying the Keys lifestyle.

Madison is Dr. Tycoliz’s lead assistant. She is a new member of our community following her dream of living and working in the Florida Keys. She and her partner completed their new dream home build. With over 10 years of experience, Madison's attention to detail makes her a welcome addition to our team! In their spare time, she and her partner enjoy weekends on the boat.

Kathy moved to the Keys in 1993. She is a graduate of the Median School of Allied Health Careers in Pittsburg, PA, where she earned a degree in Dental Assisting. She later expanded her function duties as well as earned a Radiograph license from the University of Florida in 1994. Kathy has worked in both general dentistry and specialty dental practices. She is well-trained in both dental assisting and in managing a dental office. When not at work, Kathy can be found swimming behind her house or at the beach soaking up some Vitamin Sea with friends.

Robyn graduated from hygiene school in 2009 with her bachelor's in dental hygiene. She has also gone on to achieve a certification in dental anesthesia. Robyn loves trying to find personalized solutions to each patient's unique dental situation and is always interested in learning. Robyn moved here full-time 5 years ago, and when she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their eight year old great pyrenees Bear.

Paula is a dedicated dental assistant originally from Connecticut with a passion for helping others. She attended Briarwood College for dental assisting and has gained valuable experience working in a Pedodontics office for 10 years. She then transitioned to a periodontist office for about 2 years before returning to pedodontics for another 2 years. Paula's commitment to patient care and love for making people smile is evident in her work. When she's not at work, you can find her enjoying time out on the water.
